Jorge Paz Verastegui began his musical studies at the age of 17 years old in the National Conservatory of Music of Peru. His teachers were Nelly Borda and Oscar Zamora . During this time he also studied for two years Renaissancelute with the luthist Maria Eugenia Codina.

Jorge Paz pursued graduate studies at the Superior school of Music of Catalonia (Spain), under the tuition of renowned guitar Professor Alex Garrobé.

Currently he studied Master in Guitar Performance at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg under the instruction of Professor Olaf Van Gonnissen

Jorge Paz was a member of the prestigious Aranjuez Guitar Quartet and with them, he played numerous concerts in major halls in Lima. He has received master classes with Fabio Zanon(Brazil) Alvaro Pierri (Uruguay), Luis Orlandini (Chile), Jesus Castro Balbi (Peru) , Jukka Savioki (Finland), Johannes Monno (Germany),Alexander Ramirez (Perú) among others.

As a performer, he has played several important concertos like the concerto for guitar and orchestra Tres Danzass Concertantes by the cuban composer Leo Brouwer with the National Symphony Orchestra of Peru , under the conduction of Pablo Sabat. He also performed and recorded in 2006 the Concerto for Guitar and Orchestra by the peruvian composer Edgar Valcárcel under the direction of Manuel Elias (Mexico).

In the year 2013, he improvised in a contemporary music style, for the theater piece Auf der Greifswalder Straße in Thalia Theater Hamburg, under the direction of Cora Sachs, and 2014, performed the piece Romancero Gitano for guitar and choir by the composer Castelnuovo Tedesco, with the Madrigalistas Choir conducted by his father Antonio Paz.
